Okinawa Open Days (OOD) is Japan’s only international conference that brings together leaders in Software-Defined Networking (SDN), which is attracting attention as a next-generation ICT platform technology, and cloud technology based on open source software.

It was first held in 2013, and its popularity has grown over time with 780 participants at the 4th event held in 2016, enabling distinguished industry leaders from Taiwan, the United States, Malaysia, China, Canada, Israel, Bangladesh to meet together.

The program will feature not only presentations, but opportunities for practical community exchange through hands-on, BoF and user meetings, as well as a program contest held as part of human resource training.

The Okinawa Open Laboratory that sponsors OOD is a unique research and development institution worldwide that aims to demonstrate and spread next-generation ICT platform technology through opening its research results such as those related to the fusion of SDN and cloud technology and specific user cases. It can be said that this conference is a a culmination of its activities, and has been attracting attention as a major event where the current situation and future of next-generation ICT platform technology can be seen.
