I am a lecturer in the Software Engineering Information System Department at Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Information Technology (MIIT). I hold a PhD in Computing Science with concentration in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Machine Learning from University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK. My PhD thesis, “Machine Learning Techniques for Implicit Interaction Using Mobile Sensors” can be accessed here. I have been an active researcher since 2010 and have published a number of papers in the field of HCI.
Feel free to drop me an email at mfaizuddin [at] unikl.edu.my to discuss about academic matters, PhD positions, research collaboration, consultation or organising a group ride.
I am primarily interested in solving complex inferential HCI problems involving large high-dimensional data using machine learning techniques, possibly in real-time. My current research revolves around the use of sensor data, particularly from wearables, smartphones, internet-of-things (IoT) and prototype sensing devices to model and infer human interactions implicitly. The end goal is to establish transparent interactions techniques that can be used to improve the quality and subsequently enhance standard human-device interactions.
